Taylor woke up to the sound of her alarm clock going off at the loudest volume possible. Shifting to her right, she stared at the alarm clock. As much as she didn’t want to get up she had to. Today was the day that Taylor was going on a camping trip with her best friend Claire. Claire loved the outdoors and always goes camping. There was only one problem for Taylor. She had never camped a day in her life. Taylor sighed and figured that she better turn her blaring alarm clock off before it drove her crazy. She jumped up out of bed and walked toward the alarm clock and slammed the off button.
Finally it’s off, she thought. Taylor wasn’t much of a morning person, especially today because she had been up all night the night before packing for her trip. Taylor really wanted to become a good camper.
Worrying what it would be like, she sat on her bed. Just then her mom called up to her, “Hey Taylor breakfast is ready.”
She looked over at her clock it was 11:32 and she had to be at her best friend’s house at 12:30. Thinking what she had to do she continued sitting on her bed. She couldn’t think of anything that she forgot to pack but she was so scared about camping that she could barley think. Taylor sighed “I guess I better go eat breakfast.” Leaping off the bed Taylor walked towards the door and grasped the silver door knob and pulled open the white door.
When she opened the door her white and tan dog Chester was laying outside her door. Chester was four years old and they had had him since he was eight months old. They got him from a local shelter when Taylor was ten. Walking past Chester she ran down the stairs. Sitting at her kitchen table was Taylors little brother matt.
“Good morning,” said Taylor.
“Morning,” said Matt sounding like he was still half asleep. “When are you leaving?”
“12:30,” replied Taylor
“Oh cool,” Matt said sounding like he didn’t even care.
“Yeah,” said Taylor as she picked up the plate with her breakfast on it.
Taylor walked into her living room and sat down on the brown reclining chair in the corner of the room. She grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. By the time the show was over it was 12:05 and she had 20 minutes to get dressed and ready to leave. Taylors Mom and Dad were at work and said they would be home by 12:15.
